Family
let's just say I know everyone's (I'm a little shaky on actual dates for a few of our newest members but I'm pretty confident about all months & years)
I can give other random people's info if you like. Am I creeping you out yet? Probably if your name and birthdate are on the list!
2. I didn't start wearing a seatbelt until I was about 14. By the age of 17 I was a total carseat/seatbelt nazi. At the age of 18 I went by myself to Ames and spent 4 nights in a hotel room by myself and 4 days with total strangers (mostly nurses and cops) to become a certified child passenger safety technician.
3. When I was in elementary school I didn't really think I'd go to college, also I thought that getting scholarships was like winning the lottery.
4. I have weird mental OCD things. When I was kid sometimes I remember trying to go to sleep and not being able to because in my mind was a motorbike inside a cage going around and around and around and around...(like in the movie "Wild Hearts can't be broken"). When I learned how to type I started to uncontrollably type conversations/sermons/etc. on my lap as if there were an imaginary computer keyboard there.
5. I have written a will and advance directive (not that I plan on going anywhere soon!). After all the scary stuff that's happened to people (Terri Schiavo for example) I wanted to make sure my wishes about things are known. I also want to make sure that my "estate" will go where I want it to (if there's anything). I'm not sure if they will hold up in a court of law, I should ask Josh (my 29yr old nephew and legal counsel...).
6. I'm still VERY afraid of big dogs (it was even worse when I was a kid), but try to hide it. I've never been bitten but in high school I remember having Bible study at a friend's house when I was a freshman or sophomore and their big dog kept trying to hump me but it was kind of in my face. I had to stand on a chair to escape it. I remember being ultra-proud of myself for making friends w/ the Ertzinger's dog (golden retriever?) when I was about 5.
7. I have seen the movie "Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm" w/ Shirley Temple about 100 times (that happens when you don't get any t.v. channels and don't have very many movies).
8. I used to pretend to smoke and drink when I was about 6-7yrs old when we'd watch old movies w/ Humphrey Bogart, etc.
9. I said the word "fart" in front of 100 6th grade students, my cooperating teaching, and my music ed. professor in the middle of choir rehearsal while teaching them about sharps and flats. I mixed the words and got "fart". The kids and my coop teacher didn't catch it but my professor did. I was able to hold in the giggles until after the rehearsal. After they left my professor and I had a good laugh.
10. I want to start a business w/ the people in my family. I'd really like to do a store for babies/kids w/ baby gear, kids clothes, organic living stuff, etc. or do some sort of wedding/special events planning business. One sister has already started a cake decorating business--here's the link to her website: www.curlyqcakes.com
Ok, that's 10, now it's your turn! I tag all who read this! Especially if your name/dob were listed above!
